Across Personal Edition as Remote Client

You as a freelance translator can access their customers' servers by using your Across Personal Edition as a WAN Client (WAN = Wide Area Network = remote access to a server).

Across Personal Edition as Remote Client

From Across v3.1 onwards, the Across Personal Edition can, if necessary, be used either as a
- Standalone Personal Edition or as a
- Standby Remote Client
with one single installation.

In order to convert a Standby Remote Client into a productive Remote Client it is necessary to import a softkey which is made available by the administrator of Across server you wish to connect to. This softkey contains both the license for the use of the Personal Edition as a Remote Client for that particular server and the connection data.

After the softkey has been imported, a simple click in the registration dialog is sufficient to either work standalone or to connect Across with a customer's server as a Remote Client.

This alternative use as a Remote Client is one of the various uses of the Across Personal Edition.
