crossPoints - Across Qualification Program

Meanwhile, more than 10,000 freelance translators have registered with Across and have the Across Personal Edition. At the same time, the number of industrial companies and language service providers who manage their translation processes with Across technology has increased drastically.

So that clients and translators can find their way to each other as quickly as possible, Across has introduced a point system that should give clients a hint about your experience with and knowledge about Across.

You can earn crossPoints effective immediately, as follows:

  • 1 crossPoint for participation in Across Systems online Webinars that are at least one hour long / once for each topic

  • 1 crossPoint for naming Across in your personal ProZ profile / once

  • 3 crossPoints for participation in an on-site training that is at least one day long / on the basis of confirmation of participation by the respective organizer

  • 3 crossPoints for written recommendation by a client / the name of the client will not be published

crossPoints are credited only "on application." For this, there is a form available at www.my-across.net.

crossPoints will be credited retroactively for participation in training sessions that took place in 2009 and 2010.

"Applications" for the awarding of crossPoints can be made effective immediately. In August and September, we will update the database accordingly. Starting on October 1, 2010, we will make the number of crossPoints you have earned visible to clients and offer it as a filter/sorting criterion on our website.

We will register and display a maximum of 20 crossPoints per translator. That is, we assume that with 20 crossPoints, your Across expertise is sufficiently documented.
