crossTerm

crossTerm is the terminology system of Across. It facilitates the maintenance and use of a consistent corporate terminology and of digital dictionaries.

Here you can store preferred terms along with synonyms, definitions, images, usage and grammar information, etc.

The storage of so-called do-not-use words prevents the use of terms to be avoided in company texts for either technical or marketing reasons.

crossTerm Web Server

The terminology system interacts both with the translation editor crossDesk and with the editorial environment crossAuthor for translation-oriented authoring. The user always sees the corresponding crossTerm entries for the sentence that is currently being processed.

The concordance search lists crossTank entries that contain the requested word and provides insight on the context in which the word was used in the past.

The terminology system can also be filled with online dictionaries of leading publishers or by importing databases via the TBX exchange format. Another terminology source is crossSearch, which provides access to multilingual contents on the Internet.

To identify relevant terminology in own texts, the terminology extraction function of crossTerm can be used.

crossTerm is a basic feature of Across that is included in the product scope of the Across Personal Edition.
